Some Realities Are Painful
I know that you do not love me
That I am but a silly female to you
I know you, at least the mask
That is so embedded into your skin
That I do not believe anyone in this world
Truly knows who you are beyond it
You don't give up your emotions easily
I've never heard you call yourself sad
Or happy or full of serenity, nor of hope
I've only ever heard you describe your anger
Or the acts you have done when you are
I am aware that you do not love me
I somewhat know that you like me and
In spite of my knowledge, of all my knowing
I keep dreaming of what it would be like
To be loved by you, to openly tell you
That I truly believe I'm in love with you
It does not matter if I do or do not, at all
In this, my reality, you are unlikely to love me back
Someone like you never ends up with someone like me
That I am but a silly female to you
I know you, at least the mask
