I am always rethinking things - maybe my mind is too active - maybe I think too much :-) I so appreciate the friendship of you and others on DU  and it is my life and sometimes that is all that life is - but that's enough to keep me going :-) 1000 ehugs on their way :-)

Life means everything (to me). Without life we could not reach each other through our words and our energy. I could not send hugs across the Pond to you. You (and I) could not encourage others who've been where we have been. You could not touch all those who are blessed by your presence in their world, myself included. Without life there would be no laughter. No music. I think at times we must take our strength and sense of self-worth from others when we falter. Your life means much, David.  Many hugs headed your way...

I cannot thank you enough for your response and find that I cannot disagree with anything you said, in fact I am touched by your caring. Like many I live from day to day - some days are good some are bad, none are ever the same and in that situation sometimes I can't see the woods for the trees. poetry, DU and the friends I have made here keeps me in the game - thank you - hugs on their way :-)

David, my friend, while Life can be difficult ( believe me I know, especially right now ), it is ANYTHING but nothing.  It is everything that we share right now.

It's the poetry cut by the knife of our Hearts when we're forced to be Honest with ourself and those we Love.

It's the resonation of vibration connecting with the frequency of others, reminding them they're not alone.

It's the responses you receive from the genuine caring if others who connect with you, letting you know you're not alone.

It's this right here. It's Love and Time and Attention that could've been directed toward anyone else by any of the above responders ( and myself ). But we all chose you to share a piece of us with.

David, my friend, THIS is LIFE. And it's everything. ❤

I am glad to be considered a friend :-) (big Smile) the life that I have is my poetry, DU and the friends within DU - it is my life and in many ways my sanity. Thank you for such a caring response. :-)

David...even though you wrote this as a comp entry, i cannot help but think that the sense of (deep) despair, and hopelessness, couldn't be soo aptly expressed, unless they were experienced first hand. If my perception is even somewhat close to being accurate, then my heart truly goes out to you.

While i cannot tell you that i know e x a c t l y how you feel, i can tell you that i can empathize with you when intense, life-altering events can completely overwhelm us emotionally! And--in turn--this  can make us feel as though we aren't truly in control...that our purpose seems without merit...and Life is simply meaningless existence. It is then, that we can soo easily become victims of the cruelty in our own feed-back loop of flawed reasoning. ( and, even if  from a personal pov,it's one that can become extremely difficult to break...just passing this along as friendly insight) :)

David, through your poetry, i have been privileged to become aware of a very special, creatively talented individual...  one who is filled with incredible courage....inner strength of character...a wonderful sense of dry wit, and humor that has a delightfully darker twist. I am honored to consider you a friend, and outside of DU, my feelings would still remain the same.  

Your poetry has not only enriched my life, but as evidenced by all those who follow you, many other lives as well.( and maybe that's one of Life's purposes/meanings--impacting other peoples' lives in as many positive ways as possible. Please know that i am glad, and grateful , for being granted  the opportunity, of getting to know you a bit better, as well as being gifted with your works.

what a beautiful response - I am almost speechless :-/ In the main I believe to write accurately about despair you have to have experienced it - this is not always true. Needless to say what you said about it was accurate. I would also add that there are a few people on here like yourself that really keep me moving forward - not sure how I'd cope without it. so thank you for being a friend, for your empathy and support - you have no idea just how inspiring you are - thank you :-) 1,000,000 ehugs on their way to you :-)

day to day is how i take it myself,
even when that day seems dark & so bloody endless.
the nothings herein seem to encapsulate everything,
the minutiae of ease & struggle, joy & despair.
