Never Change
Sometimes I stare towards Heaven
Watch the stars shine through the night
I pretend it’s you smiling at me
I wish everything was alright
I can’t look back at memories
Without breaking down inside
Your leaving left a painful scar
The night I watched you die
You held your arm toward the sky
As a child would hold dad’s hand
I knew that you were being led home
But it didn’t help me to understand
Why everything happened so quick
It wasn’t until I was alone
Crying and falling apart because
You would never be back home
The empty place at the table
Your favorite chair untouched
How will I survive this loss
While missing you so much
I still cry out your name
And silence is all I hear
God, please tell him for me
I wish that he was near
So much has happened
You never got to see
Life goes on and on and on
Even though you’re not here with me
Time has not made it easier
How can life ever be the same
Everything feels different now but
Missing you will never change
Watch the stars shine through the night
I pretend it’s you smiling at me
I wish everything was alright
I can’t look back at memories
Without breaking down inside
Your leaving left a painful scar
The night I watched you die
You held your arm toward the sky
As a child would hold dad’s hand
I knew that you were being led home
But it didn’t help me to understand
Why everything happened so quick
It wasn’t until I was alone
Crying and falling apart because
You would never be back home
The empty place at the table
Your favorite chair untouched
How will I survive this loss
While missing you so much
I still cry out your name
And silence is all I hear
God, please tell him for me
I wish that he was near
So much has happened
You never got to see
Life goes on and on and on
Even though you’re not here with me
Time has not made it easier
How can life ever be the same
Everything feels different now but
Missing you will never change
