Sneaky Solstice
Warmth of day dissipates with setting sun
Dark rolls in to send us off to slumber
Usher in dreams and fading memories
Day break brings a change in season
Summer breeze turned winter winds
Frosted petals from roses fall
Lay adrift upon the white covered ground
Ice capped pieces of broken dreams
Forgotten
Desperately awaiting the thaw
Where is the sun?
To breathe life back into the valley

The imagery in your words is a little magical and a little haunting. The image of rose petals on the snow is incredible in contrast. Very beautiful, Zach

This made me think of a favorite movie of mine, how the seasons were disrupted so abruptly from peaceful to extreme. Very haunting scenery played in my head. Well done dear poet.
