SOMEWHERE ELSE
You know better than to ask, my friend
It swirls in my hand
Perhaps in time, the wound will mend
But guilt never ends
Just want to know you are near
In troubled years
Though the answer's clear
They found the body by the riverbed
Said that she was dead
Before she fell and cracked her head
But I bleed instead
Just want to get out of here
Go somewhere else
Yet I'm already there
She told me to wake up, crawl out of myself
Break out of my shell
And now I fold on the hand I was dealt
Feel what I've never felt
Just want to take the fast lane
And hope for rain
Wash away the pain
And when the water fades
The light would follow
