Saving Up Your Love in a Jar
I count down the hours until your early morning return
The distant roar of a Southwest flight sounding in my ears
Late night hours have me tired and imagining things
Like the rumble of your Dodge in the driveway
Crunching gravel as you pull in
I'll run barefoot like a child to meet you
I'm aching to be in your arms again
For you to sweep me up and hold me close
I'm counting and savoring every kiss
Storing them for later when I'm alone and lonely
Feeling your soft lips lingering on my skin
The distant roar of a Southwest flight sounding in my ears
Late night hours have me tired and imagining things
Like the rumble of your Dodge in the driveway
Crunching gravel as you pull in
I'll run barefoot like a child to meet you
I'm aching to be in your arms again
For you to sweep me up and hold me close
I'm counting and savoring every kiss
Storing them for later when I'm alone and lonely
Feeling your soft lips lingering on my skin
