Midnight Secrets

A Midnight tale none would tell
suffused within the blackest moon
in haze of a witch's spell.

Secrets soaked in dew
drip and taunt cajoling charms
but some already knew.

Creatures knew but hid it well,
though the moon glinted hints,
a Midnight tale none would tell.

Seeking knowledge bats flew
in dripping caves, tongues sipping
secrets soaked in dew.

Toll will sound a morning bell,
secrets then will be exposed
in haze of a witch's spell.

Spill out the witch's brew,
burn the spell lest they will know
(but some already knew).

Codes are scrolled deep in darkness
on bark; cryptically imbued,
a Midnight tale none would tell
in haze of a witch's spell,
secrets soaked in dew
but some already knew.
