The "Complementarian" View of Marriage
I take the"Complementarian" P.O.V.
I mean, I think boys should only be boys,
and girls, only girls.
But later, when marriage comes,
the husband should learn from the wife
her P.O.V. -- things she already knows,
Like religion, philanthropy, sewing, cleanliness, etc.
So that he is no longer just a male,
rather he is primarily male but secondarily female.
Learning from the opposite sex, I'm saying, may be like learning a second language.
Likewise, when the woman becomes the wife, she would know only feminine things.
But then the husband teaches her things like boxing, masculine stuff.
So that in the end the theme of "one flesh",
meaning one (compound) body,
shouldn't be limited to sexual intercourse.
Rather it should extend to the things of the mind.
Union of opposite minds, like the union of the left and right hemispheres of the brain.
PS: I recognize that it isn't practical for boys to be taught strictly boy things,
girls only girl things.
But I still think marriage should be transformative.
Not that I can talk authoritatively on marriage,
Having missed the boat myself(having not yet taken that decisive step).
