Jewel in my hair
I met a sad day on the edge of coarse, condemning winds,
felt that dampness on the air. Sundrops wept
from a mazarine sky, liquid gold kisses
that set my skin aglow, but lovely things
were never meant for sad girls.
My wind blown locks are adorned
with one, lonely gentiana blossom, my blue cross.
I keep it for my lover, whose hands I cannot reach,
whose lips I cannot kiss, and I walk a shaled path.
The sun cauls my desperation, so that I am hidden from myself.
I've never seen angels, only stars.
You said it was the glow of their halos from far away.
And when they tuck the moon away for the night
and there's no one to lick my tears, I'll make poetry.
' I'll write us, together, on a far away star...
(Don't ask me why poems are sad.)'

Such a place as we can only arrive at in poetry;
the austerity of a blue flower, Kas, the sadness of a poem...

Blue flowers and poetry; they blossom there among the sadness, nourished by starlight and tears. Another beautiful comment, thank you, John...

Dear Kasai, no matter what mood I'm in when I write, even the happier poems wear their sadness, and I don't think it should be any other way. Beautiful write. xx

I have to agree, poetry should make us, 'feel' when read, there's a speacial kind of beauty in it. Thank you, kind lady...

What can we do with our sadness but make beautiful poetry from it? Beautifully written.

So much beauty behind sadness, a poem is the perfect home. Thanks so much, I'm glad you decided to keep this one...

There's something about tiny blue flowers that weave memories of childhood dreams with the desires of women in Love with distant soldiers, Kas. The best of times the worst of longings; the brightest of starry hopes, that like the moon are ever faithful in their rise.
Lovely poetry.
Lovely poetry.

Such a beautiful comment, Ahavati, the way you've expressed the emotion of it, leaves me a bit speachless. Those tiny blue flowers; they say so much, don't they? Thank you for such a lovely visit...

Sweet Kasai...the imagery you've created here is one which swept me away and blanketed me with beauty and sadness...as only you can do. As always, another gorgeous piece of writing...
