For Eric
I started writing this about Eric before he died. A much happier time. I finished writing it after he died. I'm sure no one will have trouble noticing the transition. Idk.
It's funny sometimes,
What life throws your way.
And how easy it is to smile
When you thought you may
Have lost it all.
Someone walks into your life,
Or you finally catch a break.
Unexpected, but something feels right.
Finally, something can make
You whole.
You had almost given up hope,
Suddenly reached the inevitable.
You could clearly see the end of your rope.
How you escaped was unbelievable.
But so beautiful.
Yet it was all just a dream.
Just another illusion to fool you
Into thinking that happiness could be.
Now he's not here with you.
He disappeared.
Your heart will always feel him.
The love you felt was strong.
It cannot be erased.
It's so hard to move on,
All alone.
It's tragic sometimes,
What life throws your way.
How easy death can change it all.
In just the blink of an eye,
All is lost.
R.I.P. Eric Davis, I miss you with all my soul.
