A Month is far too much
Going into this with a plan of attack
or half an idea, or even a segment at a pinch
would have been very, very, very, useful.
Instead each poem is done on the fly;
flying by the seat of my pants
hoping inspiration hits home
rather than a bird strike of writer's block.
Thirty poems on the tarot, or food,
or history of that day,
or the study of barnacles,
or anything pre-planned really
could have solved the daily disaster
of needing a poem and having nothing to peddle
a wordsmith without anything to hit out.
A week would have been enough,
A month is far too much
and seems to be far longer I remember it being.
I will be well and truly buggered,
metaphorically not literally mind you,
if it was a year of poems.
Self imposing a rule of
one hundred unique words
hardly helps the situation.
Another one down
onto the next one
maybe I'll have a better idea by then.

Thankfully there's a lot of Tarot to be written about 👍🏻
Hang on in there!

With each Tarot card being a picture and each a picture a thousand words then that is enough to work on, rather than butterfly wing and a scout's prayer!

Again, it's 50 unique words! Not 100! And what you learn now you take into the future! So next year, you'll know something you never would've had you not done this.
Hang tight! We're1/3 the way home.

Hence the 'self-imposed' 100 words: if you're going to bugger it up then at least bugger it up with style and effort. I will be happy when the month is over, and I can go back to entering competitions on a whim and not daily.

You think a "self-emposed" 100 unique words is tough?! Try attempting 5 poems a day for 30 days like Blaze & Co!
You're doing great! Hey! How long had it been since you wrote? And now look at ya go!"

Feel free to enter other comps and use those same entries in the Napo!

Blaze and Co are already used to churning out poems, they have a distillery for inspiration, meanwhile my usual 1 per month has severely increased. Though it is more, it always seems to be scraping the barrel so far.

Most geniuses do!
Sometimes the best things fall to the bottom of the barrel! Keep scraping!

They'd make a killing if they ever bottled it up or had it on tap. My style it seems is to let my mind wander the thought landscape and wait for inspiration to lightning strike through a once clear sky, and hide in the barrel until then.

The Lord of "Many" words...now now, Your just thinking too much.
I have been quite tickled to see Your mirth daily...Wit and uniqueness is a hard game when forced or feel under pressure, but You've done so despite this with Your undeniable style.......even if in Your mind it is fodder, Your fodder has more to offer than most who Write for sake of Writing.
Pen & paper will always be my friend...my god if I posted everything I scribble; words like "hack" would often be used to describe it.
Good show Old Man!!!
a wordsmith without anything to hit out.
A week would have been enough,
A month is far too much
and seems to be far longer I remember it being.
It always seems such when the words "have to" is placed upon it eh?

Had it been 30 days of rambling on and on for so many words I could have quite easily done that, but for 30 poems I feel each one should have some care poured into them. Not just any old random words I found in my pocket. Thanks anyway for the support, either I'll get the month done or die trying, and I am not really in the dying mood. It is surprising what can be found and called upon when needed.

At least it is a Terran month and not a 'month' on other planets. Much tea has helped though.

You are inspired to write then eh....you will be alright, m'lord. You can hibernate afterwards. I like the poem you wrote above...honest if not too poetic.

Is that criticism or friendly commentary? Though "not too poetic" seems a bit of a scathing remark in the right hands, or err... mouths... pages I suppose. The problem is the need to have written something, and my temperamental inspiration.
