The Dogs

when I think of their personalities
I remember small behaviours
 
like the Jack Russell's tail wagging
more and more as I approach
 
or holding a pigskin stick in his mouth
like a mogul chomping a Cuban cigar
 
and the Lhasa Apso nibbling my hair
like a tiny sadistic barber
 
or rolling on her back on the sofa
and snorting like a pig in a pen
 
my little piggy doggy
and my movie mogul doggy
 
tail wagging and teeth nibbling
their ways into my memories
