Education For All
I demand an appropriate education
for all those with special needs
administrators of pedagogy
I see ignoring student’s pleas
I realise modified instruction
requires teachers to differentiate
but to consider it as unfair
makes me justifiably irate
If one had no legs to stand
I would not command their walking
one should not mandate a write
based on simple talking
They know that one plus one is two
but maybe not the square route of eight
to demean amid their peers
such shame does not abate
Instead of outlining weakness
why not focus on their strengths
an instructor’s role is to teach
inasmuch, to any length
Toss out these standards tests
claiming to evaluate worth
when Maslow’s hierarchy is required
to assess needs not met since birth

I liked and agreed with your campaign issue, so poetically put - It got me to thinking and writing - draft title "Dignity for all" - will probably shorten to just "Dignity."
