One Last Time

Yes we were lovers, yes we were friends
But one thing’s for certain, everything comes to an end
Now you come back after all these years
With the hurt that you caused, the thousands of tears
I see what you bring, and I’d sooner be rid
You gave up my love for an auction room bid
Your bidder turned not to be what he made out
You thought, I know, I’ll give Danny a shout

Reliable, predictable, good old me
Now I look at you cold, from your love I am free
Don’t get me wrong, I still feel some affection
Your fabulous body and perfect complexion
Your long red hair, your devilish wit
It’s bitter sweet to tell you, in my life you don’t fit
But if you like, one last time
To feel how you felt when you were mine
