I seek not to disparage
Nor strive to be like you
Difference, not inequality
I am woman, authentic, true
Not at liberty to provide
Emancipation, up to me
Asking of you the privilege
Implies I am unfree
Approval is unnecessary
Not a question of causality
Needing not your permission
To establish equality
Uninspired to be you
My own self on a stage
For he who wishes to dominate
I shall refuse to engage
Inspired by Simone De Beauvoir – The Second Sex

The power and equality of womanhood...so preciously penned!
Your second stanza is the one that really resonates for me.....yet your entire poem represents, with confidence, the impact that Women have .....and without question,should be afforded equality!

we must all seek our equality. fight for it, win it and establish it among others ultimately seeking equality for all

Thank you David...I am thinking part of the issue is "the fight". Instead, I simple accept that I am equal and inasmuch establish my own freedom. If that makes sense. I truly appreciate your response.

Enjoyed the Statements of "no permission needed/wanted-Tis nice to see Fem-power Alive in this day and aae, it has become acknowledged within many societies...Let Us hope it infiltrates some religions as well.
I enjoyed the rhythm to this-It made for a very slick read.
