Through a Child's Eyes
Apparently we could all be happy
It’s said we could get along
That war of today
Wouldn’t have to be played
And the world would be a beautiful place.
Bullies in the playground, no more.
Killers quite commonplace, a myth
These destructive scenes
Only bad dreams
And the world would be a beautiful place.
No need for rose-tinted glasses
No need to harden your hearts
No need to fight
It’d all be alright
And the world would be a beautiful place
How do you explain to a child
That the world isn’t like that at all?
That the mess he can see
Right there, on TV
Is what’s left of this beautiful place.
It’s said we could get along
That war of today
Wouldn’t have to be played
And the world would be a beautiful place.
Bullies in the playground, no more.
Killers quite commonplace, a myth
These destructive scenes
Only bad dreams
And the world would be a beautiful place.
No need for rose-tinted glasses
No need to harden your hearts
No need to fight
It’d all be alright
And the world would be a beautiful place
How do you explain to a child
That the world isn’t like that at all?
That the mess he can see
Right there, on TV
Is what’s left of this beautiful place.
