Black Eyes.
Woken in the dead of night
Someone spoke and hushed me quiet
Frightened for the sake of fright
I couldn’t sleep, but I was tired
Eyes closed tightly, feigning snores
I hear a stifled yawn
Thoughts are swimming through my mind
Could this be, My time to die?
I assure myself it cannot be
As I still have so much to see
I open my eyes wide, to see eyes of black
And see myself staring back
Someone spoke and hushed me quiet
Frightened for the sake of fright
I couldn’t sleep, but I was tired
Eyes closed tightly, feigning snores
I hear a stifled yawn
Thoughts are swimming through my mind
Could this be, My time to die?
I assure myself it cannot be
As I still have so much to see
I open my eyes wide, to see eyes of black
And see myself staring back
