Seaside Blues   -  - - - For photo inspiration Comp

The beach
I used to love
Warm white sand
Between my toes
Like soft sugar
I’d lie
And watch the world
Go by
As I turned
Brown and crisp
Intermittent trips
Into the sea
To cool off
And be cool
Strutting back
To my hammock
Clutching a cocktail
This is living alright
I was never happier
Than I was
On the beach
A bronzed Adonis
Well in my mind
At least

The beach
I now hate
Hate with a fiery passion
Soft white sand
That a wheelchair
Won’t get through
I wheel along the pier
Trying to avoid
Eye contact
With the beach
And those
On it
I’d lie
If I said I don’t
Miss it
I watch the world
Go by
With my back to
The beach
I couldn’t get into
A hammock
I am not allowed
Alcoholic cocktails
I no longer see
The bronzed Adonis
Just half a man
With a seaside
Longing
