The Veil

can you see beyond the veil
I think you can sometimes
slightly clairvoyant it
comes to you but not everything
and not always
there are pieces that are still
missing two minds breathing as
one yet separate
assertive and determined  
behind the veil of
feigned submission
freer than a bird behind
the veil of apparent confinement
secret knowledge that will
forever have to hide in
the underground
it can never be mainstream
two different tribes  
unlike yet somehow the same
not allowed to come out of the  
shadows because the dense beings
the ones that are the salt of the earth
would never understand
and they are scared and don't understand
confused they shake their heads
trying to figure us out
even get us mixed up occasionally
so I carry out the assigned task
behind the scenes without fanfare
but seem to know somehow
you have felt it in your mind's eye
yes you have looked behind the veil
into my soul
