i don't need a partner to watch tv with,
to drink coffee either side of the morning paper,
to go on walking trips in matching boots,
to coast in comfort in shades of grey.
i won't settle.
if i can't be amazed, inspired, swept away,
shocked into an existential shift
then why bother,
i'm not after comfort,
