Truths
you can’t escape your reflection
as the mirror reveals all truths
the many scars that lay scattered over you
like constellations they sing stories
of Triumph and of Pain
how many were carved out of flesh?
like a sculptor, you flayed away the words
girl, woman, female, lady
breasts and belly and thighs
you can always try to hide
the scars won’t forget
all the questions, all those questions
why, oh, why?
reflections reveal the truth, boy
as the mirror reveals all truths
the many scars that lay scattered over you
like constellations they sing stories
of Triumph and of Pain
how many were carved out of flesh?
like a sculptor, you flayed away the words
girl, woman, female, lady
breasts and belly and thighs
you can always try to hide
the scars won’t forget
all the questions, all those questions
why, oh, why?
reflections reveal the truth, boy
