Fighting Words
You cannot fight alone
Although
When I refuse to be sucked into the vortex or her argument
It is as though I am fighting even harder
In that she goes
For lack of a better word
Batshit
She throws her high school psychology at me
As though she knows what she means
Telling me that my silence is a slap in the face
As though it isn’t worth my time to argue with her
And she calls me names which I won’t repeat
And all the while she is right
By my silence I am simply saying that her argument has no merit
And so I won’t bother to answer her call to arms
I am tired of the fight
That same one over and over
And it’s very near time to leave for good
That much she doesn’t understand at all
She thinks it’s just another fight
And to me it’s another nail in the coffin of our relationship
Soon it will be lowered into the ground
And I will rise up and move on
