My Haunting
Your words sting like a venomous snake, poisoning my entire being sending lies pulsating through my veins.
You know just how to bite, a predator awaiting the perfect moment to strike.
You pounce like a cat injuring as you play a vicious game of mousetrap.
For so long I feared the shadows, wondering if you were waiting or hiding to bring my final despair. To cut me down and bleed me slow, sucking the only life attached to my soul.
I feared you, even your name, I find myself running toward my already dug up grave.
I've allowed your memory to become who I am. Growing to believe I'm nothing more than what you say I am.
I'm haunted, there is no place to run. I've allowed your poison to create exactly what you wanted me to become. I did this, none of it you, I can only blame myself for living infected with the memories of you.
