TURNING A NEW LEAF

After so much celebration
To welcome the New Year,
It is time for some reflections
And I am not the exception,
My past buried and dried my tears,
Time has arrived to move on
And clearly sing a new song!
While walking through the streets
Of this now clean and quiet city,
I am caressed by the cold breeze
Of this January's first week,
Feeling no remorse of self pity
For things I have done last year!
Convinced I am now that the wind
Of this New Year will definitely blow
Towards new and brighter horizons
When people will wake up from
The long and scary deep sleep
As to restore on this chaotic world,
Order, respect, love and peace!
This needed and healing change,
As expected, will start with me
By honestly turning a new leaf
And praying for family and friends,
Hoping the world will become
A better and peaceful place to live!
