Lonely days spent peering into the lives of others
my so called friends whose real names I don't even know
except for a string of letters put together on a screen
when did socialisation become clicking away on a screen in the comfort of your bed
social beings hidden away from society
lost in a virtual world where nothing is real
lol, laugh out loud, now a synonym for smiling at a screen
good intentions I know
trying to bring a planet together and simultaneously driving communities apart
we are friends with people on other continents but don't know our next door neighbours
facebook is the new diary
instagram our  new gallary
Twitter our source of news
slowly forgetting how to be humans we transform into robots
click click click
we walk talk eat and sleep with iPhones ipads iPods next to us all the time
we forget to say hello to the person next to us
we don't even realise what is happening
how our kids are growing up faster than ever
now kids know more than their parents
yet we wonder why our kids no longer act like kids
scientist fear that soon robots will rule over humans
