Even Small-talk Will Do

Didn't I used to know you?
Didn't i?
Now you've grown bolder
And I've grown colder
And honey as you know, we've both grown older.
So please don't give me the cold shoulder
I know it didn't work the last time
but I think if we try to try again
I think we can be friends
don't you want to be friends
It wasn't like the last time had a bitter end
It's just that we grew apart
Now id like to grow back together
It's not too late to start
Didn't I used to know you?
Didn't i?
Now you've grown bolder
And I've grown colder
And honey as you know, we've both grown older
And yes I know you love her
I'm the one who told her
That's not what I'm looking for
All I want to do
Is be friends with you
Even though we're different now
I'd like to think we still know how
To be friends again
But I don't know anymore
I used to know you
Didn't I?
But you've changed since then
Now you seem so much bolder
And it kind of scares me
I've gotten much colder
Would you even want me?
Now that we're so much older
Then we were?
I'm not asking for much
I've no desire for your touch
All I want is to know you're happy
To see your smile over a cup of coffee
To know for sure if you've even missed me
I left for a reason
And I don't regret it
But I need closure
Will you help me get it?
As a favor to an older, colder friend.
