This is a very interesting perspective, Al. It reminded me of Cohen on so many levels - i.e. - There is a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in, even in cloud cover. Being that I love clouds, I love the cumulonimbus term you've used . I wish I could use that term here, but unfortunately it's the smoke of burning mountains that veil her face here.

Marianne Williamson once said, "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us." I think we all fear, to some degree, a light shining on what we perceive to be our inadequacies - that we may not be loved truly for who we are, and the craters of imperfection, like the moon, we don. When in reality, they would simply attract our like-minded tribe to comfort and console our feeling of loneliness under all our veils.

Lovely write, my friend. Very introspective in both content and form - rising and setting thoughts to the fullest.

It is but an honour to receive critique from you. I adore how you bounce between your thoughts as you write the words. It kinda leaves a warmth on the page that would otherwise not exist.

You know Cohen and I had an interesting relationship. His words seemed to fall on me at the appropriate times in my life, without fail.

That Marianne Williamson quote is inspirational and may just be the perfect prompt for the next write.

Right, let's get on to important stuff. That fire! Has it stopped burning? The way you speak the smoke is still awful? Are the people safe?

In regards to the fire - it's devastating the state and I am heartbroken. I can't imagine how our Blue Ridge will look after this. Worst part is they're saying it may not be until March until the fires are contained. If we can't have more rain, then I'm praying for early snow fall.

Y'know for somebody who has a whole lot of power cuts over there on your home turf, to write about a big, glowing, heavenly body and her luminescent light is nothing short of irony... hehe

I enjoyed the idea of the moon almost being a sentry being. The vulnerability of it displayed in the peering of itself from behind curtains is a very gentle image. I don't know about you, but I've never thought of the moon as vulnerable. It's a thought to ponder though, even metaphorically.  

That gentle veil... a very tender image. I'm glad you also refer to the moon as 'her'. The moon is definitely the feminine divine.  

The structure of this is spot on, and it really makes this a flowing, easy, peaceful read (and not a single spelling error... go you!)
