Pages spill beyond the cliff
into air that carries them
flying too high to return
lifted by the feckless winds
neglecting of the ink applied
to weigh the words to paper’s face
vanishing from sight desired
where the low may see the thoughts
now cast far beyond their eyes
now gone to meet other lyrics
stanzas scattered across the vale
poems cast into the world.
