Alone...
ripples, a brief breath in time
a hiccup in a journey
on the road to a known destination
...there I stood paused for a moment
the door closed shutting me in
a space with nothing shining through
dark thoughts swinging around doubts
...asking what am I doing here
dripping water from misted eyes
not stopped by soothing chants
invoking strengths from deep inner wells
...voices in my head saying ' end it'
smiles of friends and family ferociously
etched on their faces, distorted, predatory
suffocating me with aweful kindness
...they were killing me as I tried to run
time unpaused and rushed forward
I picked roses along the way
pricked and travelled with bloody fingers
...within me I looked out for the light
through the window of my inner cell
waiting for the silver moonlight
curled within I forced slumber
...as Madness cackled in my ear.
