Lies in a mirror
I saw you today
I saw you see me
Your eyes smiled at me
Your mouth smiled briefly
Intent on disguising
the tempest you're hiding
Your glance whispered
what i heard as a siren
A thunderous silence
Rumbling beneath the ground
A violence forbidden
from making a sound
Perhaps it's forever
Maybe tomorrow
The more time passes
The deeper the sorrow
The better the charade
masquerading our hearts
They say time needs time
to make a wound a scar
Someday I'll remember
your moonlit sky
But tonight you're the brightest sun
refusing to rise
Like the horizon
between the stars and the sea
Together in the distance
But never to be
True in a dream
but never for me
Your beauty was a mirror
of what never could be
I saw you see me
Your eyes smiled at me
Your mouth smiled briefly
Intent on disguising
the tempest you're hiding
Your glance whispered
what i heard as a siren
A thunderous silence
Rumbling beneath the ground
A violence forbidden
from making a sound
Perhaps it's forever
Maybe tomorrow
The more time passes
The deeper the sorrow
The better the charade
masquerading our hearts
They say time needs time
to make a wound a scar
Someday I'll remember
your moonlit sky
But tonight you're the brightest sun
refusing to rise
Like the horizon
between the stars and the sea
Together in the distance
But never to be
True in a dream
but never for me
Your beauty was a mirror
of what never could be
