The Force

you are always by my side
you give me wisdom and I try to abide
from your presence I never hide
your guidance needs to be satisfied
you are the one force to obey
therefore I promise not to stray
you shelter me with love and light
watching me and averting blight
in service to you and humanity
a burning candle for all to see
so when darkness hovers with dreadful doom
you are always there to save me from gloom
your benevolence is always shining
always providing a silver lining
giving me insight into your mind
protecting me from the deeds of mankind
it is to you only that I pledge
please don't ever let there be a ledge
between your everlasting light and I
teach me your lessons and let me fly
give me the knowledge to transcend
it is to your calling only that I will bend

I am glad you liked it. I enjoy reading your poems
as well and think you are a very deep writer. It's funny that you mention the word "wedge" because the word has always bothered me. Now that you pointed it out too, I think I will change it to the word "ledge". Thank you for the comment and please keep writing.
