Transformative Drifting

By the riverside
I played tomorrow’s tune
The water resonates my song
Opaque reflections claim my somber notions
There’s no transparency here. All light fades.
My failings cascade like teardrop waterfalls over horizons
The deeper I look, I just see my reflection
Beneath the white foam aquatic, emerges hope in bubbling delicacy
Out of the flowing stream surfaces a school of flying fish
Their iridescent scales shine with hues of rainbow colors and manifest dreams
I leap up and dive, to swim among the fish. Together we fly.
No longer am I covered with hard armor of ingrown pain, protecting vulnerable flesh
Amongst the shining prisms of light, body, heart and soul take flight, swimming the cosmos
I’ve become a symbol of my own rebirth, with a symbiotic riparian energy flowing through me
As I dive deeper, I sink like a stone, falling into an ever widening abyss
Flashing memories indulge my senses and music floats from kaleidoscopic tubes of vibrant life
Standing in the stark stillness and silence of this surreal space, still searching
My composure has gone adrift. I am left bare against the current.
I’m swept along. A greater force draws me into its wake.
I commit myself willingly to truths that overpower my being
Beyond human thought or comprehension, flowing down life’s stream
Disassembled notions brought to bare, fall through tentacles
Feel it slipping away, then let go.
Freedom’s attained by these cleansing waters
I find myself washed ashore
Soaking with awakened potential
By the riverside
