Nothing More
The green leaves begin to change
To different shades of tan, orange, and yellow
As they slowly wither away
Only to be reborn again
Into their own fleeting existence
A storm approaches
With all its trapped rage
In an instant the surface cracks
And all the rage floods down
Into the maw of eternity
To forever be an echo in the abyss
A small creek drifting by
With its soft murmurs
Barely audible in its isolation
Nothing more but a road
To stagnation
To different shades of tan, orange, and yellow
As they slowly wither away
Only to be reborn again
Into their own fleeting existence
A storm approaches
With all its trapped rage
In an instant the surface cracks
And all the rage floods down
Into the maw of eternity
To forever be an echo in the abyss
A small creek drifting by
With its soft murmurs
Barely audible in its isolation
Nothing more but a road
To stagnation
