Love's Metamorphosis
Flying colors
Whirlwind of emotions
Sun rising
Clouds parting
Tears fading
Hearts rejoicing
Coffees brewing
Sheets warming
Bodies embracing
Gone is cold
Loneliness sold
Secrets untold
Stories unfold
Two becomes one
Happiness has begun
She is his hon
He is her sun
Flying colors
Kaleidoscope of emotions
Winds of peace

This Mind of Mine
My greatest gift
my biggest obstacle
This mind of mine
It helps me find meaning in this mad
world
It takes me to places I never even knew exist
It reveals glory and beauty hidden beneath the so called
ordinary
This mind of mine
Drives me crazy searching for answers
Overthinks, overthinks and overthinks some more
Leads me to the darkest of places-
Death, suffering and suicide

A world on its own
A labyrinth I myself can't figure out

Swim
In the wee hours of the night
not a soul in sight
the sky has turned black
the world is on my back
somber and hurting
the lump in my throat is burning
I let those tears fall
they break down my wall
the wall I built so strong
the one that lasted this long
But now it's become a thing of the past
because those tears are falling fast
Even if I were to try
I wouldn't - couldn't stop the cry
Engulfed in an ocean of tears
Yelling out, does someone hear?
The river rises deeper and higher
I can drown in despair
but I decide to...

To Feel
I’d rather feel sad than feel nothing
I can deal with a broken heart, but not a dead one
I will survive the pain, but not the numbness
I need that passion
Whether it’s good or bad
If it’s sorrow or joy
That matters only somewhat
I need that sign
To tell me I’m alive
I need to feel a rush of something
Anger, crushing pain, strength
Just something
To feel like a burnt out candle
Like a body without a soul
Like a fallen dead leaf
That is the only thing in the world that I can’t feel
Because it doesn’t
Feel.

Free Spirit
My path might be narrow
But my mind is free
Wherever I go
The vastness engulfs me
They all have my life mapped out
never giving me the benefit of doubt
But my mind wanders far
like a traveler searching for the north star
They all say take the plowed path
But I believe in a free mind
And despite difficulty there is truth that I shall find
I will trudge through rain
I will swim through the sea
I will not give up until I find me
Because my path may be narrow
But my mind is forever free!

Deep Blue Pools
Deep blue pools
That's what electrifies my soul
When you look at me
the way that you do
You stare into my eyes
I see reflections
reflections of
hope
passion
and wait, is that yearning?
Those deep blue pools
tell me tales
tales of
conflict
search for meaning
and yes, victory
You look at me intently
oh what are you searching for,
Am I the girl of your dreams
Did you find the one?
Those deep coyote blue pools radiate light ...
That's what electrifies my soul
When you look at me
the way that you do

Time and again
Time and again
Iv'e been hurt and broken
alone and forsaken
tossed and thrown
Time and again
I've been hurdled with hardships
arched with aches
and pricked by thorns
Time and again
I fought like a soldier
prevailed like a warrior
and proceeded like a hero
Time and again
I picked myself up
put one foot before the other
and danced through rain
Oh not this time
let this be a time
of sunny morning
of smooth sailing
and of star filled skies
let it be a time
of laughter and joy

Life
It's confusing
It's despairing
black nights
grey mornings
waves of
pain
they drown you
you struggle
to keep your head up
but to no avail
you search for
hope
just a speck
just a single
ray
of light
to illuminate
the darkness
within
every time
you think the
truth
has been uncovered
you are
once again
plunged into
darkness
this world
is just not
my place
