The Malice
Dressed sharply, wearing a smile on his face
There is no reason to doubt his goodness.
Or doubt his gentle behaviour
It can't possibly be faked.
Until you see him swatting away
The flies around him
Too many flies around him to just shrug off
He is not actually irritated by the flies
He is trying to not let others see them
See that the flies came because the smell was familiar
And he tries to keep them away
Distracting and disarming us with his smile
But once you notice the flies, you start realizing
There must be something rotten about him.
There is no reason to doubt his goodness.
Or doubt his gentle behaviour
It can't possibly be faked.
Until you see him swatting away
The flies around him
Too many flies around him to just shrug off
He is not actually irritated by the flies
He is trying to not let others see them
See that the flies came because the smell was familiar
And he tries to keep them away
Distracting and disarming us with his smile
But once you notice the flies, you start realizing
There must be something rotten about him.
