MAY-DECEMBER LOVE--Charles and Matilda
I love you.
Charles always wanted to say those words to Matilda.
But would she laugh?
Would she leave?
He was much older. She much younger.
Then one day,
his love flaring to a flame he couldn't contain,
Charles let his heart escape its word-filled cage
with many I love yous and endless praise
of her young beauty, his secret craze.
Matilda, slim and sleek goddess,
took him in her arms
to let flow all the words he held inside
and now could no longer hide.
________________
There was a time he thought love had passed him by.
No girl would ever look twice at an older guy.
Life had lost its savor, didn't mean much,
until she came along and day by day
left him smitten with her healing touch.
_________________
Now Matilda holds him in a never-let-me-go embrace,
kissing him deeply, for her love must claim its rightful place.
"The heart wants what the heart wants ."
"A kiss is still a kiss ."
May-December love
can be life's greatest bliss.
