The doctors, they informed
we're sorry you lost one kidney
said I still have one left
and can live with that
I was driving down the road
lost all of my load
said I still have my ute
and can live with that
They said, sorry you weren't selected
to the elite selective school
said I still have my skills
and can live with that
My high school crush
got married at eighteen
said I wasn't ready anyway
and can live with that
Half a glass spilled
nobody got killed
still half a glass full
and can live with that
They took all my belongings
including my book and pen
said I still have my art
and can live with that
The pellet gun attack
left me blind in one eye
said I still have some vision
and can live with that
They said, we return you everything
that was ever taken from you
but you gotta give up hope
I said I can't live with that!

I liked the theme of this poem, and the overall idea that we can't live without hope. It's an easy going read with a proper message, and sometimes you need a few of those to peruse. Thanks for the read.
