Pox Marked Crater
Sugar light shines soft and sweet,
Behind the moon I try to see the man
Whose face they say is vivid and complete
Look more they say— I don’t know how I can
Some tell me they see bunnies leaping hectic
From crevices they make their rabbit holes
Although there always remain skeptics
who see nothing more than seas and bowls
they only need to look for Jack and Jill and yet
I do not see that ever, I admit
I try to imagine them with my eyes closed
Instead the moon half cloaked, dimly glows
Perhaps it doesn’t matter what you see
Luna’s beauty is her mystery.
