Show me love
You didn't like the old me
I don't remember who I was
You told me to do this and that
I asked how? Show me, love.
You said you shouldn't have to
Said I'm smart, I know enough
So I tried, you frowned and sighed
And said I purposely messed up
You asked me then to try again
So I did, no pout, maybe small shrug
I did it perfectly this time
You said I was too smug
I did the things, day in day out
No sleep, hands full of blood
I'll admit my pain and anger
While I bled my sea of love
You said I need to love me
Angrily, said I tried too much
I admit I misheard, your spoken trust
All I ever really wanted
was for you
To show me love
I don't remember who I was
You told me to do this and that
I asked how? Show me, love.
You said you shouldn't have to
Said I'm smart, I know enough
So I tried, you frowned and sighed
And said I purposely messed up
You asked me then to try again
So I did, no pout, maybe small shrug
I did it perfectly this time
You said I was too smug
I did the things, day in day out
No sleep, hands full of blood
I'll admit my pain and anger
While I bled my sea of love
You said I need to love me
Angrily, said I tried too much
I admit I misheard, your spoken trust
All I ever really wanted
was for you
To show me love
