The Echo that Never Fades Away
I know what you are trying to say
But I hear the echo that never ends
What you seek is pure equality
But the monster inside thrives on the sin within pride
Waging war with fire burns the world entire
Fight fire with water to douse the flame
Burning down your white house on the hill
Baptize the beast to drown it's burden away
You must see pride in all it's forms to break free of it's embrace
For even tiny seeds grow into forests filled with mighty trees
So too it's true of pride we plant and nurture deep inside
With fangs that bite into the heart and suck it hard and dry
Murder the word that tortures our memories of bigger trees
Where a hanging was a lynching and a black life a disease
Yet bigotry knows no boundaries of skin or religion
It doesn't care so much about what you are
But it sure as shit will hate you for anything you ain't
So if you ain't like us, hate will string you up unless you kill it first
You must learn to let it go because it'll never let go of you
It will build you up and stroke your ego, filling your hardened head
Never letting you in on the secret that your soul's already dead

JJ you taught me more in one poem.
My soul is not dead. It has only begun to thrive brighter. I learned that I am always alive. My anger was the media showing live the murder of 3 human beings. CNN showing live the murder of more human lives.
Have we as a society become so desensitized. That we rationalize it's okay to feed this nation murders. For one more person to snap, and copycat. I just want to believe in humanity. My focus is forgiveness.
I know I am rambling. I just left the hospital to take a walk. It's still on every TV.

I just had the same experience, killing is everywhere and on tv and the internet. After seeing more, I just wrote "Planting Dandelions".

I did not state judgment of anyone. I am simply stating that if the conditions are met the rules are set. Forgiveness of me and everyone else is for the Lord, just like judgment. But that is in the afterlife. Humans judge each other in living ways all the time because we still have time in life to fix things. I want to fix things on a large scale. I was not singling out anyone or including everyone. I just don't see any way for Christians to see pride as anything other than a sin on any scale. We don't get to choose which parts of the Bible to follow. If we break the rules we must repent and ask the Lord's forgiveness. Even if religion and sin had nothing to do with it, pride still does these things to us. It creates hate by making us feel superior to others. Look at our society and tell me how pride has not led to the hatred and killing of people based on race, religion, color and financial status in America.
Think about it. Republicans don't want the poor to have food stamps or health care. Why? So they sill starv, get sick and die. There are too many examples of all kinds of discrimination to say it ain't so. It always boils down to the 3 Seeds, greed, pride and fear. Whenever they are around, there hatred can be found.
