Stop To Gaze Up At The Moon
I stop to gaze up at the moon
And listen to its somber tune
Hum to me a quiet note
As in the air it softly floats
I watch the note fall down the stars
Watch it trickle bars and bars
Finally to me it reached
To stop and sit a while to preach
To tell me tales of moonlit nights
Boast itself a star of bright
Tell of travels through the sky
Coming down the belt Ori
Seems to us a paradise
On Camelopardalis
Though it seems unfair to us
He vacations in Aquarius
His message brought to me is clear
As he whispers in my ear
“Of distance traveled surely long
Do not forgot the path foregone
Though forlorn of thorny prong
The moon will sing its breathy song”
And listen to its somber tune
Hum to me a quiet note
As in the air it softly floats
I watch the note fall down the stars
Watch it trickle bars and bars
Finally to me it reached
To stop and sit a while to preach
To tell me tales of moonlit nights
Boast itself a star of bright
Tell of travels through the sky
Coming down the belt Ori
Seems to us a paradise
On Camelopardalis
Though it seems unfair to us
He vacations in Aquarius
His message brought to me is clear
As he whispers in my ear
“Of distance traveled surely long
Do not forgot the path foregone
Though forlorn of thorny prong
The moon will sing its breathy song”
