I am not a Poodle!
I can’t remember the last time you hugged me tight,
Nor the time you came up to me and kissed me on the right.
When did you last hold me by the hand and sweet words said,
Or the time that you last seduced me to the bed?
But I remember you, staying up at night until I am asleep,
The early rise, to make sure you don’t get caught under the sheet.
I also remember making love with tender kisses on your side,
I feel like the bus driver, you are merely go along for the ride.
You maintain your conjugal rights to try to keep this matrimonial bliss,
But I would trade it all - for just one warm and honest kiss.
I know you care for me; the way you cook and act,
But I’m not a bloody poodle, you need to be two to love, a fact!
The worst lies are those that are never said,
All the platitudes and words that keep this fake life fed.
I need to find this love - it doesn’t matter who, when, where or why,
For I need to experience this emotion, at least once, before I die.
