an Octopus, walking in a tunnel, under the deep blue sea
I
I’m the mass of an electron
deep in the sea water
under the doors of the equator
living as nature of a strange charm,
there’s skipjacks’ bathing in corals
sharp-eyed all around me,
their bioluminescence in fairy dust
surrounds my hole
where I’m hiding from a moray eel,
the moray eel finds me, and he eats me,
II
I said
what am I?
He said
I think
you’re being very coy about it.
I said
I don’t know what you’re talking about.
Is that a fish?
III
He said
I believe in the powers of the universe,
wherever the universe be
whatever the weather we turn out together
in our water color tapestry,
He kissed me, and said just keep walking.
