�Drug� is a fearful word.
Feared, but addictive?
How can something contradict itself so perfectly?

�Drug� is a misused word.
How can someone use another�s pain to describe something they love?
Why is it used so lightly?

�Drug� is a broad word.
Is it just word for hallucinogenic or addictive, or more?
Aid in escapism or ruiner of lives?

Both?

How is it that we don�t understand the perspective of a drug,
Until we�re on it?
Known are the medical effects of �drug� x,
How about the emotional?

Why is it a joke when society sees someone on,
But encourages them off?

Why is �drug� followed by �industry�?
Illegal capitalism off pain?

Suffering?

But I still wonder,
Such a broad word,
How is it defined?

great questions you pose here about such a loaded word!!!..one of the greatest words of ostracism ever on a societal human scale, yet as you so aptly display in your piece, loaded in so many ways with broad meanings, really only sometimes accurate within a certain context...we either try to avoid pain or seek pleasure in all things...all human action is governed by these two simple principles..so the bottom line to me it is a contradiction because despite the pain there wouldn't be the appetite, addiction, abuse, neglect, etc. were it not for the great pleasure derived as well...it can often be like heaven and hell simultaneously...great write!!
