If He Came Knocking Would You Invite Him In, Or Would You Turn Him Away?
You hear footsteps approaching, and all of a sudden He stops in front of your door. Not once, twice, but three times He knocks. You ask, “Who is it?” He replies, “It is Jesus”... Your first thought is, that this just can’t be. I am imagining this. No way is this for real. So you ask again, “Who did you say you are?” He replied, “It is Jesus, “Son Of God”.
“My Child, will you invite me in?” He asked. Your heart beats faster as a quietness drowns out your surroundings to all other distractions. Your legs about buckle as you walk towards the door.
Such a beautiful array of light seeps through the frame of the door way as you tiptoe to take a peek to see whom it may be. And to your amazement, you see Him standing outside your door. Again He asks, “My Child may I come in?” Conflicted and stained with paranoia, overwhelming temptations... Scarred mentally and physically you became plagued with guilt and shame. Fearing that He will only see you unworthy of His love and forgiveness, you back away from the door, crying, cowering in a corner, feeling worthless and so ashamed. The floor quakes as you cry out, “I am not worthy! Lord, I am not worthy!”
For I am full of too much sin.
“Jesus!” you cry. Once more you hear Him.
"Am I not standing outside your door?
“My Child, all you need to do is ask, for already you have been found worthy. Invite me in, I'll cleanse and forgive you of all your sins. For I am The Son Of God, Jesus Christ.
"I died, and have risen for your sins.... Ask and you shall be saved!"
Once more…
