Comfortable in my Space

It's hard to let you roam freely,
In my comfort zone that I occupy so frequently,
There is safety in my alone time,
Where no one else seems to understand ME,
This is my place I go to escape life's stresses,
Place in silence I can cry,
scream,
dream,
and count life's blessing,
I don't let you in, because there are dark places that I am not ready to let you witness,
And I am afraid,
Afraid that those dark places will consume the love that we share,
Even if you think it is unfair,
I can not let you go there
To this empty space that I have inside,
That cold place where there is no love left
A place where zero fucks are given
A place that will destroy everything
But it is my place where I can stare my issues in the face
It is where I am able to relate
My comfort zone that I occupy so frequently
Where no one else seems to understand
But ME.
See here I don't have to explain myself
I don't have to give what little bit of self that is left away
Because here there is nothing to give
So I am safe
