Morning Noir

Light beams through venetian blinds
Pooling scarlet on her skin
He struggles to recall last night's carnage
How they survived with sudden wealth
How they had to hold him down
Until Hubby bled out
Once and for eternity
Then sirens switched on by the law
A head's up to be gone
And now laying in this vermin dive
He contemplates a final fuck
One last piece of ass
But she sleeps, a moment's peace
So he'll just let her lie
And leave her with a memory
Whispering "Love you babe, but it's goodbye."
