Youth
vitality
beauty
Soon
they pass
Leaving only your experiences
and wits
How far we go to contain this
to continue looking beautiful
long after we deserve to
Fighting back wrinkles
destroying ourselves for vanity
Lowering peoples self esteem for fading looks
Beauty on the outside
will never cover the darkened pit
that is the inside of the soul

Though I would have the last line reading 'that is inside of some' as I consider the soul of everyone to be pure and beautiful... :)

I thoroughly enjoyed this poem. Thank you for sharing. I think that we can all relate. It's truly about what's on the inside too.
