TURNED TO STONE

This was inspired by Crowfly's poem "Woman on Top" and the accompanying picture from movie "Cemetery Man" - this imagines what happened before and happens next....

They had been on a crawl through the city bars,
Got warmed up enough to make love under the stars.
Being the gravedigger, he said "I know a place
Where few people will look now, so we've plenty space."
He legged her up over the cemetery wall,
Made for a flat tombstone where they stripped to their all.

He was handsomely tanned through work stripped to the waist;
Once they undressed, started touching, passions made haste.
Used to furtive naps on it to improve his tan,
He said, "You get on me; I'll be your mattress man!"
On his back he got down and he pulled her astride;
She settled upon him gently and began her ride
.
Continuing to hump her recumbent guy,
She looked ecstatically up to the sky,
Purred: "This moment is perfect! Just us two alone -
I would stay here forever if we were turned to stone!"
She got her wish (from spirits, Devil, God above?) -
They have stayed here since that night, making love.

Among the stone angels, but denied angel's wings,
No heavenly robe covers her womanly things
(Thank God that at that moment of great ecstasy
His hands, outreached and crossed, shielded her modesty) -.
A warning to others who, rampant and naked,
Would dare desecrate the resting place of the dead.
