we fallen lovers
she’s a girl who aimed to go places.
there was a world full of
dazzling lights & rock symphonies,
dancing & French cafés & refugee orchestras.
she would carry love with her
but she’d break hearts if she had to.
she got lost along the way…
I’m just a hood from the back streets; by some crazy
twist of archaic romance, we found each other.
it’s a melancholy opera that couldn’t happen
except in poetry.
on bleak nights when most creatures are gone to slumber,
she’s in her lonely bed, under a moon big as Texas
(just a blue angel, maybe had a little too much to drink.)
I’m at my desk far away, in the jitterbug glow of a desperate
candle, writing faded blue poems like this one.
the wind howls right through the shaded window; it carries
the melody of her lusty lovesong, & caresses me in its
precious anguish:
it begins with you feel so good inside me
& ends with hold me…
fallen lovers we are, & I’ll be with her tonight
in the tranquility of a beautiful dream.
I blow out the candle…

The wonders of the internet brought me to voices that can love me for a while...and I'll sob when I plead "hold me" and no one's there. My lovers only exist in dreams. Blowing out the candle...wonderful as always, sir. Stirs out feelings and bittersweet memories...did you read my mind? Haha. :)

Just like the dreams of many a young man with poetic bent, pulled into their dream states by the voices and words of a lovely lady Then upon waking they need to write.. So well done. You write such exquisite words Mr F. Color me green with envy once again.

"She got lost along the way." You found and maybe saved her from the heartache of some failed dreams. Your influence, although dark, might be her redemption. Need to snuff the candle to find out.

"it’s a melancholy opera that couldn’t happen

Those two lines kept me spellbound, my friend / The rest
of the poem added oomph and midnight black sorrow!

I'll loose conscience trying to reach your depths, Sir FadedBlues. Love always, your bluest angel
